It is in this divine setting of the Loire Valley that Etienne Bouvet formed Bouvet-Laduaby in 1851.
He erected immense buildings to house his production. A man of artistic leanings he also built a theater. By the turn of the century, Bouvet-Ladubay had become the first exporter of Saumur Brut in the world, making it a grand icon of luxury and opulence in the world of wines.
In 1932, the descendants of Etienne Bouvet relinquished their firm to J.M. Monmousseau whose grandson, Patrice, Chief Winemaker & President, Bouvet-Ladubay carries on the tradition of creating truly exquisite fine wines. With a formidable heritage of over a century and a half, Bouvet-Ladubay today produces close to three million bottles of sheer magic. |
